After 12 games of the Primera Division campaign, neither team will be that happy with their positions. Maldonado are currently 12th place, while the visitors are just two points better off than their hosts in the Uruguayan top-flight.
The home side head into this clash on the back of a particularly poor recent record, as they have now suffered four straight defeats in the Primera Division while conceding at least two goals in three of the four outings. Last time out, Maldonado lost 2-0 at Nacional.
One of their main problems this season in the league has been finding the net. No team in the Premier Division has scored fewer goals. The recent losing run has summed up those problems, as they have failed to score in their last three league outings.
Maldonado have not been great on home soil of late, picking up just one win from their last seven outings on their own patch.
Fenix’s recent league form has been poor, as a record of two wins and five defeats from their last eight Premier Division games illustrates. A 1-0 home defeat last time out against Plaza Colonia ended a three-game unbeaten run.
Their last outing also ended a trend for the visitors in the Uruguayan top-flight, as both teams had scored in their previous seven league outings.
The visitors have picked up four points from their last two away games in the Premier Division. However, they have also won just one of their previous five league games on their travels.
PlusBet.net predicts that Fenix will record a victory in a low-scoring game to move further clear of the home team in the table.
