Having registered a disappointing thirteenth-place finish in the previous campaign, Fiorentina can be immensely proud of their early-season efforts in 2021/22.

As for unbeaten Inter Milan, they will also be happy with how their title-defending campaign has started.

The reigning Serie A champions have taken ten points from a possible 12 this term and have chalked up three high-scoring wins along the way.

Having already beaten Genoa 4-0 and Verona 3-1, Inter crushed Bologna 6-1 on Saturday, with Edin Dzeko bagging a brace.

Dzeko has already notched three goals and an assist since moving from Roma in the summer, while Lautaro Martinez also has three goals to his name.

After netting a whopping 15 goals in four games (3.75 goals per game), Inter are the top scorers in Serie A.

They also boast one of the best defensive records in the division, having conceded just four goals under new head coach Simone Inzaghi.

Head-to-head: Fiorentina have failed to win any of their previous ten meetings with Inter Milan in all competitions.

Fiorentina’s last Serie A win over Inter came back in 2017. Since then, Inter have claimed six wins and four draws in his fixture.

Team news: Fiorentina will be without 22-year-old goalkeeper Michele Cerofolini on Tuesday as he continues to recover from injury.
