Legia Warsaw earned what could prove to be a vital 1-1 draw away in Croatia last week but only if the Polish hosts can make the most of home advantage in this 2nd leg, and having won four out of their last five matches at home in all competitions, Legia Warsaw may well fancy their chances here.
The Polish side have previously disposed of Norwegian club, Bodo/Glimt, with a 5-2 win on aggregate in the 1st qualifying round, which was followed by a 3-1 aggregate win in the 2nd qualifying round of the competition.
With just three defeats out of their last 16 ties overall, Legia Warsaw look to have a reasonable chance of progressing through to the next round but they do face a tough challenge against Dinamo Zagreb who won’t go down without a fight.
Dinamo Zagreb may have been held to a 1-1 draw in last week’s 1st leg at their Stadion Maksimir but they still remain a tough team to beat as the Croatian visitors have suffered just the one defeat out of their last 22 matches in all competitions.
They too have progressed through the earlier qualifying rounds of this season’s Champions League with wins against Icelandic side, Valur, 5-2 on aggregate in the 1st qualifying round, followed by a 3-0 aggregate win over Cypriot club, Omonia Nicosia, in the previous qualifying round.
Overall results also show that Dinamo Zagreb are unbeaten in their last nine away matches in all competitions, winning their last six away matches on the trot, while the bigger picture shows that Dinamo Zagreb have lost just two of their last 22 games in all competitions.
In the Champions League, Dinamo Zagreb have lost just three of their last 13 away ties at this level which includes losses at Manchester City, Atalanta and Ferencvaros but also includes six wins as well, and they’ll be a tough unit to shift here on Tuesday night.
Legia Warsaw may appear to hold the advantage but don’t rule out Dinamo Zagreb here either.
