FC Haka vs HIFK Helsinki Preview 03/09/2021
Friday afternoon brings us action from the Finnish top flight and a Veikkausliiga clash between Haka and HIFK at the Tehtaan kenttä ground with both teams keen to improve upon their current respective league positions.
Haka currently sit third from bottom in the Veikkausliiga but they’re relatively safe from relegation at this point as they possess a comfortable seven-point cushion above the bottom outfit, KTP, prior to this upcoming Friday night fixture.

Although Haka have picked up four wins to date this season, three of these were actually registered away from home, meaning the hosts have won just once to date on home turf this season, which came in the form of a 1-0 victory over Inter Turku.
Victories have been difficult to come by though for Haka overall as they’ve managed to win just two of their last 12 matches in the Finnish top flight, while goals have also been in short supply as well, as nine of Haka’s previous 12 games have resulted in under 2.5 goals.
HIFK sit in the relative safety of 6th place on the Veikkausliiga table and indeed, the visitors know that all three points at Haka on Friday would reduce the current five-point deficit between themselves and 5th placed Lahti to just two points prior to this weekend’s action.
However, HIFK have also struggled for wins in recent times in the Veikkausliiga as the visitors have managed to collect just two wins out of their last eight matches overall, both of which were gained on the road.
Wins at Inter Turku and Honka though have been outweighed by three defeats and just three draws, while goals have equally been as sparse for HIFK as that of their hosts, Haka, as five of HIFK’s last eight games overall have also seen under 2.5 goals.
Results away from though have been encouraging on the part of HIFK as the visitors are unbeaten in their last seven matches in the Finnish top flight on their travels.
While goals have continued to come at a premium, with five of the last seven away games also resulting in under 2.5 goals as well.
Each of the previous five meetings between Haka and HIFK have also resulted in under 2.5 goals and this upcoming clash on Friday afternoon may be no exception.
