When it comes to World Cup qualifying, Serbia have been hard to beat, as they have lost just one of their previous 19 qualifiers. They have also won seven of their last ten qualifiers, which includes a 2-1 win in the reverse fixture.
The home team have a strong recent home record in World Cup qualifying, as they are unbeaten in 11 games, having recorded seven victories in the process.
One key factor in that good home form in qualifying has been Serbia’s eye for goal, as they have scored at least two goals in seven of their last nine World Cup qualifiers on home soil.
Azerbaijan are the whipping boys of Group A, having picked up just one point from their six matches in qualifying. A record of one win in their last 14 international games is also an underwhelming one.
The visitors have been poor in World Cup qualifying of late, as they have recorded just one win in their previous 13 qualifiers. They have also suffered ten defeats in their previous 12 outings in World Cup qualifying.
The visitors have faced Serbia on four previous occasions and suffered defeats in all the encounters, having also conceded at least two goals in the last three meetings.
PlusBet.net predicts that Serbia will continue their stellar qualifying campaign by recording a victory in a high-scoring encounter.
