Eintracht Frankfurt vs Hertha BSC Preview 16/10/2021

On Saturday afternoon, Bundesliga strugglers Eintracht Frankfurt and Hertha Berlin meet at the Deutsche Bank Park, as both teams look to kick-start their campaigns in the German top-flight.

Olivier Glasner has not enjoyed the best of starts in Frankfurt. However, at least the Eagles head into this clash on the back of an eight-game unbeaten run in all competitions.

A shock 2-1 win at giants Bayern Munich last time out also means the home team has now recorded back-to-back competitive wins.

The issue for Frankfurt of late has been that they have drawn too many games, as before the win at the Allianz Arena against the champions, Glasner’s team had drawn their previous five matches in the Bundesliga.

Their previous five league outings had also all each produced under 2.5 goals.

Eintracht Frankfurt are a tough nut to crack on home soil, as they are currently unbeaten in 22 home matches in the Bundesliga. However, they have now drawn four of their previous five league games at the Deutsche Bank Park.

Hertha Berlin are in 14th place in the German top-flight table, two points and one position below the home team in the table. Similarly, to their hosts, the team from the capital have not made a great start to the new Bundesliga campaign.

A 2-1 home defeat by Freiburg before the international break means that Hertha have won just two of their last nine league games dating back to last season.

Poor defensive displays have played a key role in that recent poor form, as Pal Dardai’s team has now conceded at least two goals in six of their last eight matches in the German top-flight.

PlusBet.net predicts that this game will produce a high-scoring draw, which would not be a major surprise considering that the home side are the draw specialists of the Bundesliga.
