Two sides who have had slightly contrasting starts to the new Serie A season will lock horns as Torino travel to the Pier Luigi Penzo Stadium to face Venezia in what is a must-win game for either side if they are to establish themselves in their own right early on.
As of now, Torino are on just seven points from five games following two defeats, two wins and a draw in Serie A, which leaves them in ninth.
More worryingly, however, is the fact a defeat here could launch them to just outside of the relegation zone, if other results go against them around Italy.
On the other hand, quite surprisingly, Torino have turned around their early season woes and are now unbeaten in their past three games, following two defeats from two.
The Turin outfit recently drew 1-1 with Lazio, who had scored 17 games in four games prior to that game, so this is a decent point for them.
Elsewhere, Torino defeated Sassuolo away from home thanks to a late foal from Marko Pjaca, not long after Antonio Sanarbria, Gleison Bremer, Tommaso Pobega, and Sasa Lukic all scored in the 4-0 demolition over Salernitana.
This now leaves Torino in better form than many others inside Serie A and on the cusp of breaking into the top eight, should they get a win and other results around the country favour them.
Regardless, they’re in solid form now, and can be a bit more positive about moving forward in the 2021/22 campaign.
As for Venezia, they arrived in Serie A following a win in the Serie B play-offs after what was a great season for them in the second tier.
However, since coming into the top flight of Italian football, the club have received a clear reminder that this is a whole different level and that this could be a very long season for them.
Ahead of playing hosts to Torino, they sit inside the relegation zone early on. It’s now four defeats for Venezia, but more worryingly for them, the club have conceded 10 goals and scored just the three, which is the least anyone inside the Serie A has managed to bag thus far.
It consequently leaves them on just three points, following one win and four defeats.
Given their torrid form and Torino’s march forward, PlusBet.net predicts only one winner here, as the Turin outfit are expected to win with a relatively comfortable performance
